In this tutorial we will be showing you how to configure ISIS (intermediate-system to intermediate-system) on Juniper routers. ISIS is a dynamic routing protocol mainly used by internet service providers (ISP) for dynamic routing and redundancy / automatic failover. ISIS is an IGP (Internior Gateway Protocol) and is configured on interfaces connecting routers to each other. Seeing that ISIS is an IGP, it is usually used in conjunction with other routing protocols like BGP or LDP. ISIS can also be used for Segment Routing, a topic we will definitely cover in a future video.
In this tutorial we will be using virtual Juniper MX Routers, running on EVE-NG and we will be deploying two links to connect two sites to demonstrate failover and dynamic routing.
