In this video we'll show you how to configure a basic VPLS routing instance on Juniper devices running Junos. We have virtual MX routers acting as PE routers as well as BGP route reflectors, and then we have virtual SRX firewalls acting as CPE devices.
There are multiple layer 2 VPNs that you can configure on Juniper, for example cross-connect circuits, basic L2VPN, EVPN, VPLS, so in this tutorial we will explicitly look at configuring basic VPLS between two sites.
When you only have two sites you can also use a cross-connect circuit, but when you have more than two sites then using EVPN or VPLS is the best option if you want to establish layer 2 connectivity over your MPLS backbone network.
