Scratches is a point-and-click adventure game developed by Argentinian Nucleosys and released in 2006. A year later, the Director's Cut was released which included a new ending and an epilogue chapter.
The game received genuinely mixed reviews - with scores such as 7/10, and others giving it 3/10.
In 2019 it is considered a cult classic horror game, and considering the fact that is has been removed from digital storefronts (due to publisher issues, not any eldritch interference) the game has only become more of a treasured icon.
It is one of the few genuinely scary horror games that does not have jumpscares or screamers. It's also ominous as hell. And inspired by H.P. Lovecraft. What I'm saying is - it's got a lot going for it.
The successors to Nucleosys, Senscape, are currently working on a new horror title in the same vein as Scratches, called ASYLUM.
