This is the prototype of the 5GHz microwave sampler for the 10GHz source project.
The step recovery diode generates very fast pulses that commute a balanced Schottky bridge.
When the bridge conducts, a small sample of the incoming signal is stored in holding capacitors.
This time domain approach enables us to downconvert very high frequency signals.
