Today I'll show you how to open files in multiple/separate windows in Microsoft Visio! This trick will work on all versions of Visio, including 2010, 2013, and even the upcoming 2016 release!

Why would you want to do this? It's useful if you have multiple monitors, or if you simply want to have two separate Visio windows snapped to either side of your widescreen monitor.

PARTIAL VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
Hi, it's HandyAndy Tech Tips here, and today I'm going to show you the easiest way to open multiple windows in Microsoft Visio! So I've currently got two documents open: one has a canvas
with a rectangle on it, and the other one has a canvas with an ellipse. And you can see that there's no way to have them both open at the same time, I can either have one or the other. Here's my easy fix. Just hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and click the Visio icon in your taskbar. And there you go, a completely new instance of Visio!
