BMW E90 M3 Valve Cover Gasket Replacement DIY (2008-2013 BMW E90, E92, E93 M3)
►Although seemingly small, a valve cover leak can lead to damaged internal parts and ruined external accessories if left for long enough. The E90 M3 often suffers from those leaks, so you might want to look into the procedure if yours getting up in mileage. Replacing the gaskets on an S65 V8 can be a bit of a challenge thanks to its position in the engine bay, but any hassle during the repair will be well worth it once you're back out on the road.
The longest part during the replacement will likely be accessing the valve covers. Since it's such a complex engine, there are a handful of hoses, wires, sensors, and other bits in the way of valve cover access. That said, it's just a bit fiddly and not overly complicated, so this is a straightforward job with a few hand tools.
