The Brick Screen House, with a built-up area of 5000 sq. ft. was designed to reflect the taste and the personality of the owner. It was planned around a little courtyard keeping in mind the hot and dry climatic conditions of the region.
Due to the square configuration of the house, the road-facing façade became a long wall facing the harsh southern sun. Hence, a brick screen was introduced on this façade which acted as a double wall and created a buffer space between the living spaces and the exterior façade.
Principal Architects Shivangi Patel and Manav Patel walk us through the design journey of this contemporary home with interesting screens and jaalis.
