"Drift" (Demon) by Darwin [All Coins] | Geometry Dash 2.11
Darwin has been trying out other styles in his recent levels, and this time he's tried his hand at TamaN's style. I was always a big fan of TamaN because of his unique designs, decorations, and colors, but most importantly his gameplay that was always fun to play. I wouldn't say the gameplay in this level is as fun as many of TamaN's levels, as it is a bit inconsistent. Everything after 0:54 is really easy, while the parts from around 0:13 to 0:30 are noticeably harder. Don't get me wrong, this is still a fun level to play, but TamaN just sets the bar quite high in my opinion. When it comes to the visuals, I think Darwin did a nice job at replicating his style, using simple designs and interesting color combinations. This will definitely get an Epic Demon rating, and I think it will be a Medium Demon because of some of the harder parts earlier on.
OVERALL COIN RATING -
Silver. 2/4. This level only features one coin, which requires quite a bit of deviation from the normal route. It includes a collectible and some hard timings, which makes it good enough for a Silver rating. For a better rating, it must have been more original, for example by having a custom collectible.
1st coin: Silver. First, at 0:02, you have to skip the blue orb and use the green dash orb in normal gravity. You have to time how long you hold it perfectly to hit both gravity portals and get the skull collectible. Then, at 0:05, a new blue orb appears to get past the next part as mini cube. As a mini cube, the green orb at 0:07 must be used very late, and at 0:09 you reach the coin. These mini blocks move around, making it slightly harder to do than it normally would. As you can see, there are some hard timings involved here, and you can tell Darwin put effort into making this coin route. It's a nice coin route that doesn't obstruct the normal route in any way. Since this is a Demon, the coin could have been even harder, but most importantly it must have been more original to get a higher rating.
