"Strange Relationship" (Demon) by Paintingorange & smear | Geometry Dash 2.2
A few years ago, I uploaded "SOUL OR SYSTEM" by smear which had a really trippy but cool art style. This is a collaboration with Paintingorange that was uploaded by the latter. I definitely recognize much of the style here, due to both the trippy art and color usage, but it feels even more cohesive thematically and consistent in quality. For the theme, I'm of course talking about the strange relationship with fish that keeps coming up throughout the level. It makes it a bit funny too while also being extremely polished in execution, which is something I think many people enjoy. That should make it more memorable on its own. I also mentioned the quality being consistent, and that's really impressive considering it's a collaboration between two creators. It's impossible to tell who did what for me.
There are no playability issues in this either, with every part being fine to sightread due to intuitive and forgiving gameplay. It does have a considerable length and some faster parts, though, so I think an Easy Demon rating would work well. With both the gameplay and visuals being this good, this is definitely a level to experience yourself in-game. This will certainly get at least an Epic rating, and maybe even Legendary. The creators did an amazing job on this.
