Lunar High Gain Antenna
This animation shows the operation of the High Gain Antenna which was used for voice and video transmission to Earth. The antenna had a foldable parabolic mesh which causes the received electromagnetic waves to be concentrated at the focal point. The antenna feed placed at the focal point is an end-fire helix with its own cup-shaped reflector tuned at around 2.1GHz
