Visualizing PCB Clearance boundaries
I’m using Blender to visualize clearance boundaries and highlight violations in high voltage PCB designs. This design is a 65W USB-C PD charger using STMicroelectronics #ViperGaN.
I’ve shown most of the net classes I created, with Blender I can also include not only the PCB tracks, but also the component bodies when visualizing clearance boundaries and zones.
In this design, there is a violation between the electrolytic capacitor casing on the high voltage primary side and the secondary isolated side. This type of violation is generally not detected by PCB design tools as they implement clearance rules in 2 dimensions (X&Y).
