Many-to-Many relationships describe a relational property where many records in one collection are related to many records in another collection.

Similar to one-to-many and many-to-one relationships discussed in the prior video, many-to-many relationships are utilized to keep your database organized and clean without replicated data.

Understanding relational databases is foundational to ensure the success of your no-code app — whether it’s a web app or a native app.

When designing your database, inside Adalo or elsewhere, keeping your data clean and simple will not only make building your interface easier, but will also help make your app more performant.

If you find that you’re repeating data from one collection to another frequently, it may be time to introduce another collection and create a relational property between the two.

In Many-to-Many relationships in Adalo, you can only edit the data in the collection that you originally created the relationship from — if this is a confusing concept, make sure to watch the full video to get help!
