Hi, This is Vi Adkins of www.ForemostResumes.com. In this screencast I'm going to show how to add a text watermark to a Microsoft Word 2010 document. To get started I have a new document open and I've inserted some placeholder text into the document. I'm now on the Home tab at the top of the screen, and to insert a watermark I want to go to the right a couple of tabs and choose the Page Layout tab. On the Page Layout ribbon that appears you'll see in the Page Background section a Watermark tool. Select the down arrow for the watermark tool. Then you'll be given a choice of some default watermarks that Word gives you. I want to choose the angled Confidential watermark. I double click it and a CONFIDENTIAL watermark appears behind my document. This is actually a WordArt object that Word has created.
I want to make the watermark a little smaller and change its position on the page. I can do that by double clicking in the top margin of the document. That puts the page into the Header/Footer mode, and you'll see a Header tab appear in the upper left margin. Scroll down a bit and hover over the watermark until the cursor becomes a 4-arrow cursor - now click on the watermark. The watermark is now selected. You can tell because a set of 8 handles appears along the edges of the watermark. With the mouse drag 1 of the corner handles while holding down the Shift key. That makes the watermark smaller. Drag the watermark up on the document to center it on the page. Exit the Header/Footer mode by double clicking on the Header tab.
And that's how to insert a text watermark in a Word 2010 document.
