A Physician's Journey: Through Abuse, Psychedelics & Forgiveness by Dawnmarie Risley-Childs, DO
Dr. Risley is retired as a board-certified physician specializing in psychiatry. Despite surviving severe psychological, physical, and sexual abuse, Dr. Risley chose to heal through forgiving her abusers after recognizing those who harmed her are broken people. Born to a violent alcoholic father, sister to a vanquished brother, raised by a psychopathic step-father and offered by a sadistic mother who played the victim, Dr. Risley inspires survivors to take the first steps toward a healing journey to shed the albatross of shame and set themselves free from the burdens of their justified anger and fear.
