Youth Choosing to Use Substances: Increasing Safety by MCAVHN Care & Prevention Network.
The team from MCAVHN Care & Prevention Network will focus on current substance abuse trends in our youth. They will emphasize the use of prescription drugs, specifically opioids and Xylaxine, a new drug that is having devastating consequences. They will address how to have productive conversations with youth regarding alcohol and other drugs, including crisis situations.
All three presenters have been working in the mental health, AOD and homelessness prevention field for 10-15 years. All three bring their own lived experience and wisdom regarding addiction while helping others on the healing journey.
