Thanks to the introduction of the Oculus (aka Meta) Quest 2, Virtual Reality has gained a lot of popularity over the past couple of years and has begun to make it's way into the main stream. While the Quest 2's stand alone capabilities are impressive the BEST VR experiences are still only to be had on PC. But gaming in virtual reality on PC requires some pretty powerful hardware to get the best experience and I wanted to find out just how powerful the Intel ARC A770 is. There's more than a few ARC A770 reviews on YouTube but very few of them talk about it's performance in PC VR games. At the time I'm making this video; officially, Intel's ARC Alchemist GPU's (A750 & A770) do NOT support VR. This doesn't mean they can't play VR games at all though. Using a 3rd party app called Virtual Desktop I was able to run some tests and see what the VR performance of the A770 is in it's current unsupported state. If you own a Quest 2 and are wanting to get into PC VR and looking at purchasing an ARC A770 for VR (which I don't really recommend seeing as there isn't official VR support at this time), in this video I tried playing 8 different VR titles (namely Beat Saber, Contractors, Half Life Alyx, Assetto Corsa, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Red Matter 2, The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners and Lone Echo 2) to see just how well the ARC A770 performs in Virtual Reality and whether or not the A770 is the right choice for you. Enjoy. :)
