How to check what version of firmware your modem has
It's very important to update your modem's firmware. The problem is, unfortunately you're not in charge of updating your modem.
Your ISP is responsible for updating your modem's firmware when new versions are released. It's your job to make sure they're actually updating it.

In order to see if your modem has been updated by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), you must check what version of firmware is installed on it.
This can be done by accessing your modem's settings page. In order to do that, you'll need to know your modem's IP address. By typing in your modem's IP address in your internet browser search bar, you can access your modem's login page.
Once you arrive at your modem's login page, you'll need to enter your modem's username and password to log in to it.
Once you have the version of firmware that's installed on your modem, you'll need to know how to check what the most recent version of firmware for your modem is.
But there's a twist.
The latest firmware version for your modem will depend upon who your ISP is.
The easiest way to find this information is to access your modem manufacturer's website. They will most likely list the information you're looking for on their support page.
Once you determine the latest version of firmware released for your modem, you just need to compare it with the version that's currently installed.
That will tell you if your modem has been upgraded or not.
