A hexadecimal number system is a base 16 number system as it uses 16 digits from 0 to 9 and A to F. The numbers 10-15 are replaced with hexadecimal symbols A to F.

Hexadecimal to decimal conversion: Multiply the hexadecimal number with place values as powers of 16.

Decimal to hexadecimal: Successively divide the decimal number by 16 and remainders written from bottom-up is the hex value

Decimal fraction to hexadecimal: Successively multiply the decimal number by 16 and write the integer part of each step from top-to-bottom.
