Here's another commercial from the 'Sindy' doll line from Marx Toys featuring "Cindy Brady" actress Susan Olsen - this one specifically for the "Complete Dining Room" playset (part of "Sindy's World") and also featuring their jingle. We get to see Susan Olsen again in a hairstyle approximating her "Cindy" curls. (by next year's ad she would be sporting a trendier "feathered" look:    • Marx Toys - 'Sindy' Doll - "Heart Nec...  )

I had assumed they wanted to name the doll "Cindy" but couldn't due to issues with the people who owned the rights to the Brady Bunch - but actually the Sindy line of dolls have a long history and was a British brand, as popular there as Barbie was here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sindy

"Sindy can be a friend..." (sure, she can be, if she wants to...)

This aired on local Atlanta TV (or via Cable) on Thursday, November 16th 1978 during the 4:00pm to 4:30pm (Eastern) timeframe.

About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:

The Museum of Classic Chicago Television's primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s and early 80s, primarily) recorded off of any and all Chicago TV channels (or other cities occasionally); footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical preservation. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to DVD, and to view more of the 4,700+ (and counting) video clips available for viewing in our online archive, please visit us at:
