Here's a complete first-run broadcast of an episode of Tales of the Unexpected - only not the late 1970's / early '80's syndicated (and British-produced) Roald Dahl anthology drama, but one fully titled Quinn Martin's Tales of the Unexpected (his production company did this one, after all) and which had a very short run, to say the least. This is one of the few QM Productions not to have Hank Simms handle opening title voiceovers for who starred in each episode (but he is heard near the end) - though Cannon's William Conrad was the narrator, and 'Act __' [surprisingly, Arabic rather than Roman numerals are used here] is shown at the start of each segment, and Ford vehicles are seen throughout. Oh, and this was one of the many flops that appeared in this period over the NBC Network, taped in this case in Boston, MA, via its then-NBC affiliate WBZ Channel 4 (now owned by, and affiliated with, CBS).

This installment is titled "Nomads" (S01E04), and features guest stars David Birney (who this season starred in a short-lived TV series adaptation of Serpico in the title role), Eugene Roche, David Huddleston, Lynne Marta, Katherine Justice (who'd appeared in the very first Columbo installment in 1968, "Prescription: Murder"), and James Best (two years before landing the role of Sheriff Rosco Coltrane in The Dukes of Hazzard), and it is about a Vietnam veteran with a history of mental illness who learns of a plot by alien beings to take over the Earth, but (surprise, surprise!) no-one will believe him. (If this plot sounds familiar, it is - a reworking of "Beachhead," the pilot for the 1967-68 TV series The Invaders starring Roy Thinnes.)
