Hello Artlings! Are you a beginner wanting to learn Procreate but it seems too intimidating to even start? Here’s where you can find the Procreate essentials and some tips on how you can use them! While some of the processes may be updated since my setup is older, I believe this is still about 98% relevant. (lmk NICELY😆 in the comments if it isn’t)
I was supposed to post this procreate essentials video in June but then I got the product videos that had to come out first and I don’t have my own editor. I have scripts that I’ve written LAST YEAR that I haven’t been able to do so maybe I’ll have to find my own editor talaga, even if it is just for rough cuts. 😭

I’ve been thinking about it for a while, but I wasn’t sure what content I should post. But now I’m posting full speedpaints, and articles/personal blogs on what I learned after each youtube video. I have many ideas, but since I can’t execute them all in youtube videos yet, I was thinking of sharing the knowledge in advance to my kofi supporters ( and I mean like months in advance, not just an early week).

Everything I mentioned and more, but for some reason, people don’t read through this but it is super helpful
HOW TO USE MULTIPLY ❓
Some people don’t like the use of the multiply layer since it can show shadow colors inaccurately. But if you use it as a tool in the beginning, it can be cohesive and easy way to shade. Also this is just one way you can use this layer.
1. Have all flat colors on one layer,and swatch a light 25%+ grayish color on it so you can color pick in case you lose it. Get all of your base shadows in
2. Use a slightly darker value 30%+, swatch again, and do the ambient occlusion and darker tones
3. Merge the multiply and flats layer. You can honestly stop here, but if you aren’t satisfied you can
4. Cut and paste each section of the artwork (shirt, pants, skin etc) into different layers
Adjustments } Hue, Saturation, Brightness or other color adjustments to make the each layer shadows more appropriate
5. Paint over everything to make it more cohesive
