Though it is nearly impossible that any system files may be corrupted on their own. Yet being an open source software, we know and respect our user's freedom to experiment. To safeguard against any mishaps that may leave you stranded, the My sCool Server has an in-built Factory Restore feature.
This video demonstrates how to recover the My sCool Server using the Factory Restore feature.
The restoration feature can be invoked in multiple ways. One from the boot menu is useful to recover from a non-booting state. And the other from the terminal may be invoked to restore an accidently deleted system file.

Warning: Factory Restore shall override any customizations done by the user to the server. It may also delete user created data.
There are multiple ways of doing factory restore
Method 1: Via server boot menu
Select Factory Restore option from the server boot menu
Note: Factory Restore does not restore any preloaded or custom loaded web-content
Confirm your Factory Restore option
System recovery will begin
After successful recovery system will restart
Method 2: Factory restore may also be done via Terminal
Boot into MSS device
Open Terminal
For Factory Restore you need to be super user, execute the command
sudo su -
Enter password of mssadmin when prompted
Note: Factory Restore does not restore any preloaded or custom loaded web-content
To restore your system, execute the command
recovery.sh restore
On successful restoration, one can see the message -
"Restoring finished, reboot is recommended"
