Peter Kay’s huge gig opening Manchester’s brand new Co-op Live arena has been cancelled.
The highly-anticipated show was due to open the city’s flagship 23,500-capacity venue, the largest in the UK, on Tuesday, April 23. A second gig planned for the following day (April 24) has also been cancelled.
On Monday (April 22), it was announced that both shows had been cancelled with work not yet complete on the venue, based in Eastlands and next to the Etihad stadium. The council's building control is also yet to sign the building off.
Both Peter Kay shows will be rescheduled for next Monday and Tuesday (April 29 and 30).
