D460 can be controlled by different transmitters. Optional RadioLink transmitters include T8S, T8FB, T12D, T16D, AT9S Pro, and AT10II. D460 is installed with a RadioLink flight controller Byme-DB, which supports standard SBUS and PPM signal. So you can use receivers/ transmitters from other brands to control D460. Just make sure your receiver supports standard SBUS or PPM signal.
The binding of R12DSM and AT10II has already been done. I’ll show how to set the transmitter.
1.Enter Basic menu-MODEL TYPE. Set the TYPE to ACROBATIC. Long press PUSH button. Are you sure? Press the button once to confirm it. And wait. (It is recommended to reset the model first or select a new mode when setting it.)
2.Enter Basic menu-REVERSE. Set the direction of channel 3, throttle to REVERSE. And other channels to Normal. (When using transmitters from other brands, there is no need to follow this requirement.)
3.Enter AUX-CH, Set a 3 way switch for channel 5,SWC,this one. and a 2 way switch, SWD for channel 7.
4.You also need to check the channel selection in AT10II. Enter basic menu--**, If you are using R6DSM receiver, you need to select 10CH for CH-SELECT. If you are using R12DSM receiver, you need to select 12CH for CH-SELECT.
(Select 10CH for R9DS, R6DS, R6DSM receivers;
Select 12CH for R12DS, R12DSM receivers.
After setting the transmitter, power on D460. (Note: The binding has already been done by factory default.)
Keep D460 in a stationary state. The gyro of the flight controller will perform self-test. The self-test is done now.
(The LED indicator of R12DSM is in blue/purple color, which represents the SBUS working mode.)
Motor Safety Lock
The motor can be locked/unlocked by channel 7. I’ve already assign SWD to control it.
Push SWD down, the motor is locked. There is no throttle when you push the throttle stick.
Push SWD up, the motor is unlocked. The motor emits two long beeps means the unlocking is successful. (Note: When the motor is locked, the gyro of Byme-DB is automatically turned off; When the motor is unlocked, the gyro of Byme-DB is automatically turned on.)
You must push the throttle joystick to the lowest position when unlocking it. But we find that there is only one beep sound and no response of throttle stick, so the safety unlock fails.
How to solve the problem?
We can push SWD to the motor unlocking position, that is to say, put SWD up,
and then enter the EPA menu to adjust the throttle travel from 100 to 101, 102, 103... until you hear the second long beep from the motor, which means the unlocking is successful. When push the throttle stick, it works well now.
So if you want to unlock the motor when using AT10II transmitter, you can adjust the EPA to ~~. When using transmitters from other brand, you can also refer to this method to solve the problem.
Attitude Calibration
Byme-DB needs to calibrate the attitudes to ensure the balance status. It is recommended to lift the aircraft nose with about 20 degree angle for beginner to ensure smooth flight.
I remove the cover, and place a box under the nose like this. Then push the left stick (left and down) and the right stick (right and down) like this to calibrate the attitude. The green LED of Byme-DB will flash once, and there will be a slight movement of the servo, indicate that the calibration is complete. and attitude calibration will be recorded by flight controller, once it is complete with success.
When using transmitters from other brands, follow the steps on the screen.
Servo Phase
After the attitude calibration is done, test the servo phase.
Push SWC the lowest, to Manual mode. Then check if the the movement direction of the ailerons is consistent with the joystick movement.
After all the test above, you can install the propeller.
Then you can fly D460 outside.
