Luke 19:1-10
Bottom Line:
Jesus shrugs off public opinion and ”people-pleasing” by reaching out to someone who was hated and looked down upon. His love for the lost leads to a radical change in the life of Zacchaeus
1. Faith in Jesus can change the lives of unlikely people in unexpected ways! Luke 19:1-5
A. Zacchaeus was a traitor to the Jewish people!
B. Zacchaeus was a tax collector.
C. Zacchaeus was a hated man.
D. Zacchaeus was an evil “cheat”.
E. Zacchaeus was seeking (ready for a change)
F. Zacchaeus needed a Savior.
2. Being like Jesus means doing what's right over doing what's popular with the "crowd". Luke 19:7-8
Convictions to conquer crowd-pleasing:
A. I will do what is right in spite of the negative reactions of unbelieving others! Luke 6:26
B. I will reject “small" compromises on clear moral positions! Romans 6:1; 1 Peter 1:16
C. I will humbly refuse to give any sin a foothold in my life! Romans 13:14
D. I will not shift the responsibility for wrong actions to others! James 4:17
E. I will wisely do the right thing regardless of the consequences! John 5:44
3. True faith in Jesus will produce lives that reflect Christ in us! Luke 19:9-10
