This video is a companion to Chapter 5 in The Packet Guide to Voice over IP from O'Reilly. In order to put voice into a packet, we first must convert it to data and still be able to convert it back. The CODEC (coder/decoder) is the thing that does it. In this video we will go through the process and cover some of the issues associated with the process. We will also take a look at some of the standards such as ITU-T G.711.
