It's FINALLY here!! Firstly, a HUGE thank you to everyone who contributed to this project and helped me bring it to life; it wouldn't be the same without any of them. Please go support all the amazing musicians who played on this project - I've linked their channels below!

I first started playing Xenoblade Chronicles (the Definitive Edition) in April 2021, and was hooked on pretty quickly, especially with the music. When I first heard Engage the Enemy, I knew I wanted to try an ambitious arrangement of it and include a bunch of friends on it. Fast forward to April 2022, when I started arranging, and I decided I wanted to use the existing instrumentation and then some, as I added several horns and turned the string section into a string quartet. Since I'd started this towards the end of my time in school, the initial plan was to spend the summer working on it and release it in time for Xenoblade 3, but...well, life got in the way haha, and as I moved to Toronto at the end of the summer the project fell by the wayside completely, and for the rest of my time in Toronto I hardly worked on any of my creative endeavours.

When I moved back home a few months ago, I knew it was time to bring this project back, and I spent the last few months working on the mix and the video - I'm quite proud of how it turned out, as I'd never previously mixed or edited video for a project of this scale. The process was a MASSIVE learning experience and getting it to where it is boosted my confidence quite a bit, especially with regard to things like recreating video game assets from scratch (very proud of those nameplates, which I did myself)!

Of course, I received a lot of support from friends without whom this project wouldn't have turned out as well as it did - special thanks to Andy and Thomas for feedback on my in-progress arrangement, Patti for arrangement feedback and helping me figure out string parts and bowings. Thank you to all of them as well as Robby, Julia and Ro for providing mix feedback, and HUGE thank you to Ro for putting together the sick Monado and Chain Attack animations! Thank you to everyone for being accommodating of this timeline too lol.

At some point while editing the video, I was looking at the giant splitscreen at the end and couldn't help but feel awed - here was a group of extremely skilled musicians, and they'd all taken the time out to record this for me. Very, very grateful to everyone.
With the power of friendship...We can make cool videos and music haha.

Please check out all the musicians who made this possible!
