How to load a film in an 8mm / Super 8 autoload silent film projector. By subscriber request. Fuji's version of Super 8 was called Single 8 - same format, different camera cartridge (and Fuji film was on a polyester base). This machine can project the original 8mm (also called Regular, Standard, or Normal 8) and Super 8 / Single 8. Best to do a test with a junk film (buy a cheap cartoon or something on ebay) before trusting a projector with your precious home moves. Some autoload machines work fine, others can tend to crunch up the film. Trimming the head of the white leader, and ensuring that it isn't too curly, can help with successful auto-threading.
