I know what you’re thinking... "Why in the h*** would I make snack bars if there are so many amazing ones in the supermarket?" Well, I am not sure why I like the extra steps but these are so good and I really like knowing exactly what is in my kids food! If you do too, then you should try this homemade recipe! I promise it is so worth it. EVERYONE in my house is obsessed with these, and there is nothing better than a guilt free delicious snack!
INGREDIENTS:
-1 cup peanut butter
-1/4 cup honey
-3 cups corn flakes
-2 cups rice crisps
-1/2 cup sliced almonds
-1/4 cup chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Add peanut butter and honey to a large bowl. Microwave in 30 second intervals, mix in between. It took me 1 minute until it was fully soft.
2. Add corn flakes, rice crisps, almonds, chocolate chips. Mix well.
3. Place a sheet of parchment paper on a baking tray and add in the mixture.
4. Compact the mixture really well using your hands. This is the most important step.
5. Refrigerate until hard
6. Once hard, cut into smaller pieces.
I recommend to store at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months!
