Trooper's Report:
On August 16, 2024, at approximately 4:48 PM, I, Trp. Victor H. Meza was parked at the Mobil gas station on North West Ave
near United States Highway 167 B, when I noticed a sliver Kia Stinger (suspect vehicle) traveling northbound on North West
Ave at a high rate of speed. I confirmed my observation by radar, which indicated that the suspect vehicle was traveling 89
mph in a 45 mph zone. I turned my lights and siren on and attempted to catch up to the suspect vehicle to conduct a traffic
stop. As I attempted to close the distance with the suspect vehicle, I noticed that its speed had increased to 108 mph in a 45
mph zone with heavy traffic present. As I continued traveling northbound, I noticed that the suspect vehicle had attempted to
negotiate a curve in the roadway, before losing control and traveling off the right side of the roadway.
After departing the roadway, the suspect vehicle oversteered to the left and reentered the roadway, before crossing the north
and southbound lanes and almost colliding with an SUV. The suspect vehicle then turned around along the southbound
roadside and sped off again at a high rate of speed. I turned around and advised Troop F Dispatch that I was in pursuit. As I
caught up to the suspect vehicle, I noticed it turned right into the Gator Den RV Park, which dead ends. As the suspect vehicle
attempted to turn around to exit the RV park, I positioned my patrol vehicle to block its path. The suspect, later identified as
Anthony T. Jackson, stopped and was ordered to exit his vehicle.
Shortly thereafter, Trp. Shabby Moore arrived on the scene and assisted me in taking Mr. Jackson and his passenger, Cory
Anderson, into custody without further incident. Trp. Shabby Moore advised Mr. Jackson of his Miranda Rights before I
transported him to the Union County Detention Center. Trp. Shabby Moore transported Mr. Anderson to Union County
Detention Center, where he was released. A case file will be submitted to the 13th Judicial District PA’s Office for a formal
charging determination.
Mr. Jackson was charged with the following offenses:
5-54-125(d)(3) Fleeing-Felony-Vehicle or Conveyance- Substantial Danger or Death.
27-50-308 Reckless Driving- 1st
