This simple tutorial will show you how to draw and paint a clematis flower in watercolor. You will learn how to use masking fluid over a dry painted color to mask it while you paint the colors around it, and how to make a gradated (dark to light) wash on your petals. This was a requested tutorial, use whatever colors you would like, enjoy!

Supplies
Watercolor paper
watercolor set
watercolor paintbrush (flat 3/4 and number 8 or 10 round)
Art Masking fluid (I am using Winsor and Newton's)
*I will link to another video that explains different things you can use for masking fluid
Water in a container
paper towel
scratch piece of paper
masking tape if you want to tape a border
pencil and eraser

How do you say clematis? I have said the names of flowers in my head hundreds of times, but when I said this one aloud I thought... that does not sound right!

What do you like to use as masking fluid?

Music
Waltz of the Flowers by Tchaikovsky
