Sometimes, you can treat ingrown toenails at home. You can soak it in warm water with Epsom salt or a mild detergent, then apply an antibiotic ointment and a bandage to the area. You can also remove it yourself if there’s no infection. If it doesn’t show any signs of infection — swelling, hot to the touch, oozing, foul odor — you might just try letting the nail grow out.
