Fight for Air Climb in Denver - Team Grover (2020)
For the past three years, we've done the Denver Fight for Air Climb with our friend Steph. She has been doing this climb in honor of her dad, who died from lung cancer. That was 23 years ago and he was only 54.
We affectionately call our team, TEAM GROVER. This year we had 47 members and raised over $8,500 for the American Lung Association. It was great fun, and we added to it this year by wearing some fun costumes and winning the team costume contest.
The climb involves climbing the stairs of the Republic Plaza in downtown Denver. It is 56 stories and 1098 steps. You can choose to do the Ultimate Climb, regular climb, or both. The Ultimate Climb just means seeing how many times to can do it in one hour. Several of us did the Ultimate and then the regular climb with the rest of the team. Steph and Patrick did both with 20 lb weigh vests.
