PRODUCTION OF THE MCLAREN MP4-12C SPIDER (2010-2014) l Assembly Line l Woking Plant (UK). The McLaren MP4-12C, often known as the McLaren 12C, is a McLaren Automotive sports car that was created and constructed. It is the first McLaren-designed and constructed production automobile since the McLaren F1, which was discontinued in 1998. The final design of the car was shown in September 2009, and it was released in mid-2011.
The MP4-12C is built on a carbon fiber composite chassis and is driven by a McLaren M838T 3.8-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that produces around 592 horsepower (441 kW; 600 PS) and torque of around 443 lbft (601 Nm). The automobile employs Formula One-derived innovations such as "brake steer," which involves braking the inner rear wheel during fast turning to counteract understeer. A seven-speed smooth shift dual-clutch gearbox transmits power to the wheels.
The MP4-12C Spider, which was renamed the 12C Spider in 2012, is a convertible variant of the automobile. McLaren introduced the 650S in February 2014, featuring updated bodywork, an enhanced engine, and other technical enhancements. McLaren announced the end of production of the 12C in April 2014.
