In this video I talk about HDFC Bank's Debit Card EMI (Equated Monthly Installment) facility which allows you to purchase products in OFFLINE shops/outlets on Pine labs POS machine.
Some more things that you should know about this facility:
1. Only selected customers of HDFC Bank are eligible for this facility. To check your eligibility, you need to SMS MYHDFC to 5676712 from the mobile number that is registered with your bank account. Keep in mind that the bank have predefined parameters for its customers and if you don't fulfill one of its parameters, then you won't be eligible for this facility.
2. EMI Tenure available for this facility is 3/6/9/12/18/24/36 months.
3. In order to avail this facility, the bank may require you to maintain a minimum average balance in your savings bank account. After your purchase has been successfully converted into an EMI, the bank will auto-deduct EMI installment from your savings account.
4. The bank is going to charge you extra interest for this facility. While uploading this video the interest rate is around 15 to 16% per annum - This may change in future.
5. While uploading this video, there is a processing fee of INR 99 + Goods and Services Tax (GST) for converting your offline transactions into EMI. The bank may also charge you Auto-Debit return fee, Late Payment Charges and Foreclosure charges depending upon circumstances.
6. If you get cashback from any brand then it will be credited directly into your Savings Bank account.
7. When you use this facility no money will be blocked from your bank account.
