If I’m being honest, I’ve resisted making a ring like this for years. I can completely understand wanting to have 2 dates (or 2 states) on one ring. The challenge really comes with two issues. 1) Silver Washington quarters have serious issues becoming warped when you fold them. This is because the relief from Washington’s head is so much thicker than the rest of the coin. The thicker parts don’t stretch as much as a result and creat the wonkiness. 2)The second issue also has to do with the different thicknesses. When you put the two together, there are different elevations where they meet. You could solve that by removing the high parts, creating a flush fit but then you’re removing coin details which I don’t like.
So after all the potential issues being considered, I finally decided to make one :) It isn’t 100% my favorite ring but I think it actually turned out better than I had imagined. What do you guys think? Is it worth the trouble?
