Medieval - Visigothic - Comb- Hand made.- Viking comb
In this video you can see how to make a comb from the 6th or 7th century.
Our replica is based on a comb that was found at the Villauba site (Girona). It is a Roman-Visigoth site, since its occupation goes from the 1st century BC to the 6th or 7th century AD.
The pint, despite its H shape and corresponding to Roman typologies, was found in a well from the Visigoth period. The phreatic level of the well has helped to maintain anoxia and preserve the comb in an exceptional way to this day.
Its function, apart from aesthetics, was hygienic as it was used as a nit to remove head lice.
I hope you enjoy seeing how this medieval craft is made.
