Tentsmuir Dunes - Panasonic Lumix S5 Short Film
I've literally just started getting into making short films and after much research and searching around I finally settled on a Panasonic Lumix S5 and was lucky enough to also get access to an Atomos Ninja V. This is my first foray into making short films and so any constructive feedback is most welcome!
I've recently started reading the Dune trilogy and so couldn't resist the opportunity to take my S5 and Ninja V with me on a weekend trip to visit Tensmuir Nature Reserve (Scotland) and make my first short B roll film - let me know what you think! I managed to forget my tripod, so all this footage is shot handheld with the Lumix S5 and a 24mm Lumix S series prime lens, in ProResRAW on the Ninja V and then colour corrected and stabilised in FCPX (which I've also just started learning from scratch).
Unfortunately, the Ninja V needed a firmware update and kept cutting out (an issue I thought I'd fixed before I left) which was pretty frustrating as ever 10 seconds or so the Ninja V would lose signal, reset and not save the recoding, so I lost quite a bit of footage. Some of the footage was really nice and crisp, though I've definitely got some room to improve with some of the shots, which were disappointingly soft and certainly my fault but all part of the learning curve!
