Christina Cole worked as a stylist for many years before applying for a position at the Rainier School. “I was ready for a career change, and I thought my skills in interpersonal communication would translate well to a direct care role.” Christina has now been with the state for 8 years and loves when she’s able to teach a client a skill they can use in their daily lives.
Located in Buckley, Washington, Rainier School provides 24-hour residential and specialized care for clients with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a peaceful country setting. Rainier School residents possess a wide variety of abilities and needs, and staff provide care and instruction in the areas of work or vocational training, leisure activities, social relationships, and everyday life tasks. Programs and services are individualized and designed to enhance self-determination and maximize independence.
