We’re launching a series of improvements to the responsive web app-building process in Adalo.
First up: a new way to design.
Before — after adding a component to a screen, the original screen would also change the layout when changing the placement on a different screen size. This could be fixed by turning on “custom layout” in the Layout Tab.
Now — Place your component on one screen size, change to a new screen size & move the component. That’s it. Your original screen design will remain the same while working on the new screen design. We’re calling this auto-custom layout.
Next: the Layout Tab.
Before — the layout tab displayed settings for both shared & custom layouts, even if you only used a custom layout. Next, you could easily change the layout for the wrong screen size, unknowingly.
Now — once you utilize a custom layout, the options for shared layout disappear. Also, if you click on the custom layout for a screen size, you are not viewing in the builder — we’ll automatically switch that! (We’ve got your back 😉) Now, you don’t run the risk of changing the wrong setting. Phew!
We recognize this is a change to how you used to design in Adalo, but we hope you find it a more intuitive way to build your no-code web & mobile apps!
