Wear Installer 2 - how to install an old-style watchface on a WearOS 5 device
This video shows how to install an old-style watchface (ie. built for earlier WearOS devices) from its apk file using Wear Installer 2. You might want to do this if you have a favourite watchface from your previous WearOS watch that you still want to use on your new WearOS 5 device. This is confirmed to work on the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra. Update 12 Sep 24: it seems as though technique this won't work on the Pixel Watch 3 - Google have removed the watchface runtime on that device :-(
One caveat: this method is unsupported by Google and might stop working on Samsung watches in the future.
