Shutter Speed in photography is the the time giving to the opening and closing of the shutter curtain in your camera. When the shutter curtain is open, this then allows light to strike the cameras sensor, which of course makes the photograph.
There is two different types of shutter speed, that being fast and slow, by the end of this video you should then understand that a fast shutter speed is usually used by photographers in areas where there is loads of light (such as outside on a sunny day) and also that fast shutter speeds "freeze" subjects in the final photograph.
Likewise you should also be able to understand how slow shutter speeds are usually used by photographers in areas where there is not much light (such as a dark tunnel), in addition to that you should also understand how a slow shutter speed "blurs" subjects in photographs.
