00:03 - Benchmark at "Ultimate Quality" preset - 1.07 vs 1.08.6
03:27 - Gameplay at optimal settings for GTX 1660
The new 1.08.6 patch impoved performance of both GPU and CPU due to optimization of volumetric clouds and some other minor improvements. Clouds now demand a lot less power and there is no significant difference between "Ultra", "High" and "Medium" quality.
RAM usage was greatly reduced.
Real gameplay performance is really good and dips below 60 fps target only for a short while during some intensive battles. During traversing through the game world perfomance is perfecly fine. All you have to do is to reduce a couple of settings one step down as shown in the video (03:35).
The amount of stutters was further reduced in comparison with 1.07 version. The game feels quite smooth at 60 fps and perfectly smooth at 30 fps (even if "Ultimate Quality" preset is chosen).
System specs:
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1660 AERO ITX OC - OCed, +90MHz on core, +900 MHz on memory
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 - OCed to 3800 MHz
RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 Crucial Ballistix BL2K8G32C16U4R - OCed to 3466 MHz [16-17-16-33 CR1 + tightened subtimings]
Motherboard: MSI B450M Mortar MAX (AM4, mATX)
CPU cooler: ID-Cooling SE-214 (1x120mm fan, 4 copper heat pipes, 150 W)
Storage: Western Digital Blue WD10EZEX 1TB HDD
Recorded with a help of NVIDIA ShadowPlay. The recording eats up to around 3% of frames. So the real framerate without recording is 3% higher.
