FileMaker container fields are an amazingly easy way to add document and digital media management to your database.
A FileMaker container field can hold an image, pdf, movie, sound or document file. With this one field type you get a full range of possibilities for tracking your digital assets.
In this FileMaker tutorial, I show you how to add files using the drag and drop, as well as the insert file methods. You'll learn the pros and cons of each of the two methods, and which of the two allows you to open a file directly from within your FileMaker database.
You'll also learn how to make a minor adjustment so that you can use a FileMaker interactive container field to play movies and sound files, and interact with PDF documents, all right inside FileMaker.
