In 2009, a film was released to theaters titled "The Road". Based on a book of the same name, it was a disturbing, sad and melancholy film about an extinction level event that basically killed off most of life on Earth. The few human survivors behaved very badly. As such, its soundtrack was sad and quiet. It starred Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron.
I recently discovered the score and felt the short opening track to be very emotional and worthy of adapting to MuseScore. I have written it to include full piano notes and it is easy to play. Should you need to explore a sad melancholy song that is nevertheless quite magically written, this may be the one for you. Alternatively, I did not find it sad but rather peaceful and melodic when riding my bike outside among all of the living plants and animals. In fact, it has become one of my most listened to scores.
All notes are present and closely mimic the original score, using the same instruments found in the film. I used a custom grand piano and timpani so if you download the score to play at home, please adjust the soundfonts to MuseScore default using the mixer menu.
