Bento Born in the Night: Japanese Washoku Masterpieces Crafted with Time, Art, and Flavor
Located near Kongo Station in Osaka, “Bento Shop on the Second Floor” is, as the name suggests, a bento shop hidden away on the second floor of a building, known only to those in the know. It is crowded with many customers at Lunch time and has become a hot topic on SNS.
The store's appeal is its colorful bento boxes. The bento is packed with bite-sized side dishes, most of which are handmade. What is even more surprising is that only one chef makes them from midnight!
The restaurant also offers a limited menu using seasonal ingredients, so you will never get bored of the menu no matter how many times you visit.
Inside the restaurant, a variety of bento boxes are lined up on a large table, just like a showcase. It is hard to decide which one to choose, they all look so delicious that it is fun to select one. All the side dishes are carefully prepared and so delicious that each time I put one in my mouth, I would mumble “delicious” to myself.
