Windows Vista Build 5600
This is Windows Vista build 5600 Ultimate (5600.16384.vista_rc1.060829-2230) in VMware Workstation Pro. This is the official Release Candidate 1 build which wss originally released to technical beta testers on 1 September 2006 and later to the wider public on 6 September 2006 (five days later). This build was compiled on 2006-08-29 and expired on 2007-06-01.
How I got this to run:
VMware Workstation Pro 16.2.3 with these settings:
Backwards compatibility with Workstation 10.0
OS set to Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition
2 GB RAM
40 GB SCSI VHD
1 CPU Core
Network attached (disabled during installation)
3D Acceleration must be enabled by the user.
For drivers, you have two options which I tested:
1. You can use the VMware Tools 12.0 tools (which is what I did in this video)
2. You can use the VMware Workstation 11.0 WDDM driver and the 7.0 drivers for system devices and audio (tested prior to recording).
