Windows Whistler Build 2276
This is Windows Whistler build 2276 Professional (2276.1.Lab02_N.000928-2023) in VMware Workstation Pro. This is a Beta 1 build which was first made available in late October 2000. It has been claimed the Preinstallation Environment of this build was uploaded to a website on 17 July 2020, but at this time that claim cannot be verified as the Preinstallation Environment is not available to the public. This build was compiled on 2000-09-28 amd expired on 2001-03-27.
How I got this to run:
VMware Workstation Pro 16.2.3 with these settings:
Backwards compatibility with VMware WOrkstation 6.5-7.0.
OS set to Windows 2000.
512 MB RAM
1 CPU Core
8 GB (IDE) VHD.
Network attached
An MS-DOS/Windows 9x bootdisk is necessary to get setup to run as this .ISO is not bootable.
VMware Tools 6.5 for system devices and video. Audio should work without drivers.
Add this line to .vmx: acpi.present = "FALSE"
Be sure to set the OS as Standard PC in setup.
