Budding young manufacturers from across Flintshire, Cheshire and the Wirral showed they have what it takes to run a green manufacturing enterprise at an exciting event held on 21 February 2012.
Teams of 13 and 14 year old boys and girls were given the chance to form their own mini-manufacturing business and develop eco-vehicles that would transport trees from forests through to factories and onwards to the customers in the form of magazines and newspapers.
The event was a collaboration between The Manufacturing Institute's Make It campaign, Shotton based, paper manufacturer UPM and the Mersey Dee Alliance.
The winning team on the day was St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School in Flintshire with Cheshire's Helsby High School following closely behind in second place.
Both teams will now go through the Make It Grand Final which will be held in summer 2012. For more information please visit www.makeit.org.uk
