Basic battle damage for beginners: tell a story with the damage that your miniatures have taken. Talk yourself through what your tank has been through and then drill the holes and cut the scratches that represent this story.
This battle damage tutorial is for absolute beginners that have never made battle damage before and would like to get started with some basics like bullet holes and shell impacts.
I'll show you how I do different kinds of battle damage on different miniatures to show the different situations they have been in.
